Last updated: June 2026
BikeID is a digital ecosystem dedicated to the creation, management, verification and preservation of blockchain-based bicycle certificates.
This Privacy Policy explains how BikeID processes information in relation to BikeID Platform and BikeID Wallet.
1. Data Controller

2. BikeID Services
BikeID includes a web platform and a mobile wallet application.
- BikeID Platform allows operators to create contracts, mint NFT certificates, update certificates, burn tokens, transfer tokens, generate PDF certificates and notarize documents.
- BikeID Wallet allows users to create or recover a wallet, receive BikeID certificates, view certificates, open PDF files, view images, videos and 3D models, and verify certificates on Polygon.
3. Data Processed by BikeID Platform
BikeID Platform may process technical and operational data necessary to provide the service, including:
- wallet addresses;
- bicycle technical data;
- images, videos and 3D models uploaded for certificate creation;
- NFT metadata and TokenURI references;
- IPFS and CIDGate references;
- blockchain transaction data;
- document hashes used for notarization;
- technical logs required for security and service operation.
4. Data Processed by BikeID Wallet
BikeID Wallet does not require a personal account.
Private keys generated or imported inside the wallet remain stored only on the user device. BikeID does not receive, store or recover private keys, passwords, seed phrases or biometric data.
5. Purposes of Processing
Information is processed to:
- generate blockchain contracts for bicycle models;
- create and manage BikeID digital certificates;
- generate JSON metadata and TokenURI references;
- upload media and metadata to IPFS/CIDGate;
- mint, update, transfer or burn NFT certificates;
- generate PDF certificates;
- verify certificates on Polygon;
- manage stolen bicycle certificate records;
- provide assistance and technical support;
- notarize and verify document hashes on blockchain.
6. Blockchain, Polygon and IPFS
Blockchain transactions on Polygon are public, immutable and independent from BikeID once confirmed.
Content and metadata may be stored through IPFS and accessed through CIDGate gateways. Due to the nature of blockchain and decentralized storage, some information may remain publicly accessible and cannot be deleted or modified by BikeID.
7. Wallet Stolen BikeID
BikeID provides a dedicated Wallet Stolen service for certificates related to stolen bicycles. When a token is transferred to the official BikeID Stolen Wallet, it may be displayed as stolen within the BikeID ecosystem.
The certificate is not burned or deleted. If the bicycle is recovered, BikeID may return the token to the legitimate owner after appropriate verification.
8. Third-Party Services
BikeID may use technical providers and infrastructure including Polygon Network, IPFS, CIDGate, hosting services, RPC providers, email services and, where applicable, payment providers.
9. Cookies
BikeID may use technical cookies necessary for the operation of the website and platform. If analytics, marketing or non-essential tracking tools are introduced in the future, user consent will be requested where required by law.
10. Data Retention
BikeID retains information for the time necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations and maintain security. Blockchain records follow the technical rules of the Polygon Network and may remain publicly available.
11. Security
BikeID applies reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the platform. Users remain responsible for safeguarding their devices, wallet credentials and private keys.
12. User Rights
Users may request information regarding personal data processing by contacting: info@bikeid.eu.
13. Changes to This Policy
BikeID may update this Privacy Policy to reflect technical, legal or operational changes. The updated version will be published on the official website.
