Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

BikeID is a digital ecosystem dedicated to the creation, management, verification and preservation of blockchain-based bicycle certificates.

1. The BikeID Ecosystem

BikeID includes BikeID Platform and BikeID Wallet.

2. Blockchain Infrastructure

BikeID uses Polygon Network, IPFS, CIDGate, ERC-721 smart contracts, BikeIDFactory, BikeIDModel and BikeIDRegistry.

Blockchain transactions are public, immutable and independent from BikeID once confirmed by the network. BikeID cannot modify, reverse or cancel confirmed blockchain transactions.

3. Ownership

BikeID is not the owner of bicycles, digital certificates, NFT tokens or uploaded media.

Ownership of a certificate is determined exclusively by the wallet address recorded as owner on the Polygon blockchain. BikeID acts solely as a technology provider and service operator.

4. Wallets and Private Keys

BikeID does not store private keys, seed phrases, wallet passwords or biometric authentication data.

Users are solely responsible for safeguarding their wallet credentials. Loss of credentials may result in permanent loss of access to the wallet and associated certificates.

5. NFT Certificates

NFT certificates generated through BikeID represent digital records associated with bicycles.

BikeID does not guarantee market value, resale value, compatibility with third-party platforms or visibility on external NFT marketplaces.

6. Wallet Stolen BikeID

BikeID provides a dedicated Wallet Stolen service for certificates related to stolen bicycles.

When a certificate is transferred to the official BikeID Stolen Wallet, it may be marked as stolen within the ecosystem. The certificate is not burned and may be returned to the legitimate owner after appropriate verification.

7. Notarization

BikeID may provide blockchain-based document notarization services. Notarization proves that a digital file generated a specific cryptographic hash at a specific time.

BikeID does not certify the legal validity, authenticity or ownership of the document itself.

8. User Responsibilities

9. Limitation of Liability

BikeID provides its services on an “as available” basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BikeID shall not be liable for blockchain failures, network congestion, wallet failures, third-party service outages, IPFS availability issues, Polygon network issues, lost credentials or user errors.

10. Service Changes

BikeID may modify, improve, suspend or discontinue portions of the services at any time, including for technical, security or legal reasons.

11. Privacy

Personal data processing is described in the BikeID Privacy Policy available at Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Italian law.
